Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

A-Kon23 Day 1

I know this is late but the internet cable won't connect on my Mac (The world runs for PC) But here is my Day 1 journal of A-Kon23 or known as the Road Trip: A-Kon 2012!! We left around 8am and got to the con around 12pm....ugh the only bad thing about the con was the pre-reg line...it sucked ass because by the time we got there they said we had to wait an hour because the line was around the whole building!! Well we got our badges and we went to the dealers room!! OMG There was so much! I got a new blue fox tail and Abel got a matching green one. We looked so cute. I got a big soul Eater wall scroll but not the display one of the whole gang no I got one of all the female main charcters. :dance: Yeah I was happy! Now gets to the good part.....THERE WERE ZOIDS!! SO MUCH ZOIDS! But the prices were abit high. I wanted HMM Liger Zero Jager so bad...but he like 160... :cries: They even had the first HMM Blade Liger...But the Zoid I chose that I am getting TODAY! Is the HMM Shield Liger Van Custom. He is only 90 dollars and I will have like 73 dollar left over. Getting off subject on the journal XD We shopped for a bit, Abel got some kickass weapons while that was going on I was looking for some good cosplays...and I SAW FURSUITS!!!! Abel said my face lit up when I saw the first one. I got pictures of all them and I am hoping they live in Texas XD We kept wandering the con to see what was there and than I saw :iconcaninehybrid: 's Groundon cosplay and oh my GOD I WAS SO FUCKING HAPPY, IT WALKED RIGHT PASS ME!! i GOT PHOTOS!! Than we went around and looked at some art. I am thinking about commissioning someone to draw Roko if I can...Than we left the con pretty early around 7pm. and we went traveling around Dallas which was really nice.

Alright now Day 2 is coming up shortly and I will post a journal on it tonight. Bye guys

$160? I thought it was $130 ($120 + tax) where I got my Jager. Haven't seen you yet. I'm now in the lobby checking mail. x3 A whole lot of fursuits we saw...way more than last year!? @3@ Was so happy and apparently they are having a Furry Fiesta party or meet up tonight in the hotel, but I don't know the location yet. D: Hope to see ya later on today or tomorrow before we leave. If not anything definitely stay for the SAO to watch us perform. :3

Yeah we did see you and waved at you guys I think. x3 Didn't go to the cosplay thing, but saw it on the A-Kon TV in the hotel room after coming back from the Furry Fiesta meet-up party last night. Was really cool seeing a lot of nice furries. I was surprised of how many positive comments that I heard about them than what had happened last year. D:
